Vasectomy questions

Since I'm seeing my SB regularly and we both got tested for STD. We decided to go BB from now on but I don't want to knock her up so i'm thinking about getting this done.
If you had this procedure done please share your experience as for cost ? pain ? any changes to daily life and those sort of things.
Never had it done, but I work with a lot of urology patients. Procedure has radically changed over the years. It's outpatient and is minimally invasive now. Pain will be at incision site for a few days. Stock up on some small ice packs. Cost...check with your insurance company, it's going to vary. Since it's the beginning of the year, you'll pay more since most likely your deductible is not met. My father had it done years ago (early 80's) and it never resulted in any performance issues going forward. Remember the incisions are at the distal part of the scrotum, not anywhere near your actual junk.

The local anesthetic shot was the most painful part. Prior to administering the injection, the doctor cheerfully announced I would feel "a little bee sting." Felt more like I had sat on a hornet's nest.

Best advice...have it performed on the Thursday morning when the NCAA basketball tournament starts. Games run from 11 am to almost midnight and you have perfectly legitimate excuse to watch it all from the comfort of your bed where you are bravely dealing with the discomfort. just have a bell handy by the nightstand to alert your SB that your beer is empty and you could use another sandwich.

In all seriousness, It was no big deal. Other than the shot to the nutsack, there was minimal discomfort and no residual adverse effects.

Had mine done 36 years ago. Local anesthetic, little discomfort, ice pack and rest for a day. Little discomfort for a lifetime no worries about pregnancies. Just be sure you don't want kids moving forward...r
Mine was a decade ago. Not a big deal, especially compared to the end result of bbfs with your monogomous SB with no worries.

Most insurances pay 100%. It is a cost avoidance for them. If your done having kids, there is no question, get it done.
Thanks gents for sharing your experiences. Calling my doc tomorrow.

You won't regret it. I had it done 10 years ago. Very little discomfort. No need for ice. Just no sex for a week or so. No change in ejaculate volume or quality of sex.
Thanks gents for sharing your experiences. Calling my doc tomorrow.

Procedure done on Thursday morning. I felt a dull ache Thursday and friday. By Monday (4 days post op) I was off roading on a quad and some of the harder bumps were slightly painful. I went rock climbing on Tuesday w slight pain when I put my body weight into the harness.

I also had a friend get it done a year after mine. The Dr missed with the local anesthetic sp he got the first side done without anesthesia. If you feel anything but pressure after the injection, let him know immediately.
The Dr reinvented the local for the other side and the second half of the procedure went fine.

You do need to have your sperms count rechecked periodically to avoid surprises.

Fully concur about getting it done a Thursday and laying low for a couple of days with some great movies, sports and so on - I would avoid porn. By Monday, you will be great and by the next weekend, you should be ready to blast away. Never regretted getting mine.
Over 12 years ago...Best surgery ever done...just ahead of Lasik...everything works the same...yes...you still shoot...get the $.99 bag of peas...i took a valum....that initial stick...yes...gonna hurt...but then turns into a dull pain...similar to the delayed after affect of a stiff shot to the nads...so worth it though...agreed...do it Thursday...back to work Monday....now dont go playing basketball Monday night...but..take it easy...there will be some swelling....unfortunately...th e nads will go back to their original size...
Go to a reputable doc. I ended up with Dr. Mengala and it wasn't pleasant! He put in the local then immediately started the first incision. I felt that blade slicing through and it was horrifying. Once the local took over, it wasn't bad. A few days of rest and ice packs, and all was good.
I had it done about about 12years ago.the whole procedure last about 10 min.not much pain at all
All your guyes poor balls. Just sounds painful
