"Arverni" was the most powerful Gallic tribe in ancient Gaul before Gaul was conquered by Caesar and the Romans. They lived primarily in what is, today - France.Wrote a 5th-grade book report on Vercingetorix. Arguably, it was the pinnacle of my academic achievement: intellectually it's pretty much been downhill for me since I was 10 or 11...
"Vercingetorix" was an Arverni chief who united all of the Gauls for one last stand against Caesar. He and the rest of the Gauls were defeated by Caesar during the siege of Alesia. By the way - not ALL of the Gauls were at Alesia when Caesar laid the city under seige. So when Caesar designed his siege fortifications - he had to build one line facing Alesia to keep Vercingetorix's troops pinned in the city - and another line facing AWAY from Alesia to keep the rest of the pissed off Gauls OUT. He had to fight battles simultaneously on both lines.
"Arverni" - some people find hard to spell. It's fine to just abbreviate it to "Arv". Originally Posted by Arverni

You could say the same for me! Only thing I ever learned in High School that I use everyday is how to type - and I recently had to relearn even that due to an injury. Originally Posted by Arverni
