I shaved all my hair off May 3rd or I should say my daughter shaved it all off for me. I was going to go to the ATT stadium May 4th for the buzzforkids.org benefit but I had a bad cough and did not want to be around anyone with a low immune system. I have been blessed and had so many people tell me Thank you and share with me stories that this has been a priceless decision in so many ways. I do not regret doing it because I know someone will end up with hair because of me. I have invested in some wigs and because I had to have those styled I found a wig shop in Addison. The owner of the shop is a great lady. She is very nice and helpful. She can style a wig and does not charge that much. She also has wigs donated so if someone does not have a wig and needs one and is over 21 she maybe able to help them out. If you know someone that has a wig they no longer like or want please have them donate it to a wig shop that will pass it along to someone in need. I may not have someone close to me at the moment that has cancer but for some reason this has really touched me maybe it is my way of doing something and helping others that need help.
If you know of anyone that is under 21 with a medical hair loss condition please pass this info along. There is an organization that helps young people get a wig. It is the CHWL ( www.childrenwithhairloss.us ). The family income has nothing to do with the wig being given or not. A young person can receive a wig once a year with wig products till they turn 21. The value of the wig and products is over 2k and that is per wig.
A wig can make a difference in someone's self esteem so please pass this along. Thanks so much for reading. Taylor
