A two part question for yinzers....

1. If a lady were to pay a visit to the Burgh-- where should she avoid staying? Leaning heavily towards Cranberry at this point but-- being that I've never actually been in the city-- I don't want to have my first trip be a critical error.

2. Given that this board is no longer an advertising venue-- where does one go to catch a gentleman's attention these days? I was on Indys in the long ago-- but with that being defunct, I wasn't sure if anything rose from the ashes to take its place.

Thankies
Cranberry is pretty good, it is safe, unless you go to the typical lower end hotels, then you will probably have the company of many sordid characters.....

The answers you receive may depend on where the person responding lives. When you look at the Pittsburgh area you have

Central - Greentree / North Shore / South Side / Downtown
North - Cranberry
West - Robinson / airport area
South - Meadowlands / Washington
East - Monroeville

Someone in one are may not want to travel to another given the distance and traffic. So you have to decide yourself how that may impact things depending on the length of your stay

In terms of safety, as long as you stay in a nice hotel which you said you do, you will be fine there

Greentree, Cranberry or Monroeville would all be fine choices.

If I'll drive an hour for a good meal, I'll drive an hour for a good provider and those are all within a reasonable radius.

There's no Indys replacement. Tryst is an option for advertising, but some ladies here supplement with Skipthegames for additional exposure over the Listcrawler sites.
If coming to Pgh, let is know details. I like soccer moms!

Love soccer moms.

I think you fill a trip just from this post.

Please let me know if you visit.

My plan is to come mid-May-- I don't believe the current rules on the boards allow me to state exact dates until I'm actually there and can do the ubiquitous "where should I eat" post

Green Tree works for me. Never had a complaint it was too far, seems pretty central and super close to downtown and Mount Washington when I want to get out to explore or dinner. Pittsburgh is such a beautiful city, I could live there one day. Good luck on your trip….I found some of the most amazing clients there as I’m sure you will too!

I think the ONLY issue I'm having with Greentree-- is that I try to stay in places like Residence Inn or Homewood, etc... that have a kitchenette-- I've lost a good bit of weight in the past year (and still losing) and its much easier for me to stay on plan if I have the ability to stock up on proper nutrition, etc. The only suite style place I'm seeing in Greentree is a bit lower end than what I prefer. There are a couple of nicer hotels in the area, but neither have the kitchenette that I like to have available. I'm not ruling out Greentree- -I just have a lot of things to consider.
Monroeville should work well I'd luv to see you there!

I like the big hotel right off the parkway greentree exit, they have lots of side entrances and exits that make going in/out pretty ninja. No need to walk through a lobby.

You can’t beet the free food and booze at Drury Sweets heading towards the airport. Nightly kickback I believe it’s called. I always stay at a Drury if there’s on in town.

There does seem to be a majority who would prefer the Greentree area, though-- so I may have to give up on my kitchenette and just be cautious with my food choices.
