You just reminded me of something COG, a lot of people make fun of Ayn Rand and try to tear her down. They make fun of people who read her and understand some of her philosophy. They are opposed to anything that smacks of Ayn Rand. Why isn't that the same thing for Orwell. He makes some of the same points. He was intimately familiar with socialism just like Rand. He wrote what he knew and what he saw coming but he is considered a literary master and Rand is a fringe political flake.

They do it to deflect from Obama 's failures and scandals.

Yes, it's fun to make fun of the people who elevated her in the first place. She writes works of fiction. Her philosophy is very easy to understand, that's why most people disagree with it.
She writes fiction, just like Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum. I would oppose them in the same way I would oppose her if someone tried to impose their philosophy on our free society. Since no one does, I merely enjoy their work.
