When I get tired of Chinese, a very good second is Viet Nam food. There are a couple of locations called The Viet Nam Cafe, they are not owned by the same people. The Viet Nam Cafe located in "The North End" just across the street from the Catholic Church is perhaps the best Asian food in Kansas City. (North end is just a few blocks east of the Farmer's Market, River Market.)
