Their seems to be quite a few providers and hobbyist on twitter and given it's easy to make a john/jane doe account i would like the thoughts of providers well as fellow hobbyist.
I think it suits the same purpose
of having a dedicated website
but you may have more control
on a twitter account and interaction with the audience. Depends on the settings.
I have several providers on twitter as well as tumblr. I actually prefer tumblr the best as the ones on there typically post shots that they won't or can't post on EC.
