I had a situation happen today that upset me.. Maybe it upset me a little more than it should have, but it has happened more than once recently so I would like to say something.
Today one of my clients called me up and set up an appointment for 11:30am.
I take a shower, make sure everything is ready, pay for a room, get my room set up.
Well.. Around 11:15am I sent him a text to see if we were still on, and he asked if we could please move it to 12:00pm. Sure that is fine, no biggie.
Well around 11:30 a different client called and asked for an appointment at 12 and I apologized and told him that would not work for me because I already have an appointment today.
Well... 12pm comes around and I call my client.. no answer. I wait.. call again.. no answer. I send him a text and ask if he is still coming.. still no response 30 mins later... I go back home.
He texts me around 1pm and says he is on his way....
umm?? NO.
Its an hour past the time.. I explain to him that I was upset and WHY I was upset and all he says is "sorry, can I still come?"
Let me make one thing clear... I completely understand that sometimes things come up.. meetings run late, maybe your wife comes home early or your kid gets sick at school. But please at least have the courtesy to let me know, and also please don't just assume that you can drag an appointment that was meant for 11:30am to whatever time is convenient for you in the afternoon.
Its not even the fact that he didn't come that bothers me, its the way he apologized like it didn't really matter.
Please just respect us enough to let us know. Same goes with the providers, please respect that your clients have lives and can't sit around and wait for you all day. Be courteous people!
Sorry for my rant, but I haven't had one in awhile so I felt like I owed the board some Destiny Drama
