A PARDON FOR EDWARD SNOWDEN: SIGN THE PETITION......

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...owden/Dp03vGYD

Early opinions vary on Edward Snowden, the former spy who just leaked confidential national security documents and accused the U.S. of building an intelligence machine that records nearly all human communications.
Some people think Snowden is a traitor.
Some people think he's a hero.
Some people are reserving judgment until they learn more.
Those who think Snowden is a traitor and criminal are gearing up to arrest him.
And those who think he's a hero are petitioning the White House to pardon him.
As of this morning, a petition to "Pardon Edward Snowden" has received nearly 8,000 signatures.

He is a hero! Signed!

He is a patriot; but I wouldn't call him a hero.

A pardon? No, but some immunity from prosecution for some things (like reporting the illegal activity on the part of his former employers). If he continues about other things then he should be prosecuted for treason. He needs to walk a very fine line to stay on the side of good.

He should be subject to what ever laws govern such activities. IF a grand jury determines he has broke the law, then that is up to a jury to decide.
Confirmation that our Government is conducting broad sweeping data mining is a good thing to know about; as far as I know Snowden hasn't exposed any actionable national secrets that could be used against us.

No offense, but this is something I don't understand. This guy made 6 figures for a few years doing this, then decides it's unlawful. So he remedies it by doing something illegal. He should be I guess thanked for letting us know what we already knew, and then prosecuted for a security violation. Same as Manning, without the treason charge because neither one seem to have explicitly given the information to the enemy.
