Shining a light on a vulnerable population
Many people are dying down there from homelessness and it's a crisis. Just because it has happened to you, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Homeless people migrate to the warmer states, because they don't need as much clothing and insulation for their cardboard box "living quarters." As a consequence there may well be a disproportionate share of "homeless deaths" in Texas and/or other Southwestern states .... Texas is bigger and doesn't have as much desert where it is difficult to survive with minimal support ... like food programs and medical assistance.
A lot of Vets are "homeless" ... and the VA doesn't offer much to them as a practical matter. Hopefully this next election cycle Trump will get elected so there will be someone in the White House who really gives a shit about the Vets.
