Visiting for just this weekend...help?

Hey everyone! I'm moving to from Austin to Colorado and taking the bus all the way there would be exhausting. So I'm sorta taking my time getting there and trying to make what I can during my stops. Does anyone know where the best hotels for work are? I've been told the galleria. Is that true? And are there any other good spots. I'm only here for the weekend so please Help! Also, never been to Dallas before, anything I should check out before I go? Thanks!

The galleria area does seem to be where everyone goes not sure why though. That area sucks for anything but fucking. As far as what to check out, deep ellum has the most Austin vibe with dive bars, live music and great food.

Don't know why everyone seems to end up in the Galleria
area getting there from any where sucks.
Closer to Downtown Dallas would be better,
