Visiting Vegas

Hey Vegas hope everyone is having fun! So I am going to be visiting soon. Can anyone suggest good areas to stay, is strip hotels safe or should I veer off the strip and if so where should I go? Been many times with family but visiting for different reasons this time lol! Thanks for any advice!!
