What a thoughtful, intelligent person ought to be speculating about is why this country has allowed and IS ALLOWING under the current administration the development of nuclear weapons in countries that use them to hold other countries hostage by threats of using them against other countries if they interfere with their invasions and TAKING aka ROBBERY of the natural resources of the target country.

Why did Ukraine give up their nukes? Democrats from the United States and Bill Clinton. They didn't like the idea of someone having the will and power to stand up to Russia so they put economic pressure (is there any other kind?) on Ukraine to "do the right thing". Clinton (and England) promised that if Ukraine ever came under attack that the US would come riding to the rescue. Funny that no reporter has put a microphone in front of Bill or his co-president Hillary and asked the question. Remember hearing USA took delivery of nuclear material from somewhere in east europe years ago. Might have been what was in the weapons. All parties agreed to it seeing it would lower possibility of terrorist and such getting ahold of it since security of stuff wasn't good. What happened afterwards, idk. On December 19, 2003, long-time Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi stunned much of the world by renouncing Tripoli’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs and welcoming international inspectors to verify that Tripoli would follow through on its commitment.I recall that quiet diplomatic win for this country and the Middle East.
Following Gaddafi’s announcement, inspectors from the United States, United Kingdom, and international organizations worked to dismantle Libya’s chemical and nuclear weapons programs, as well as its longest-range ballistic missiles.
