Info posted on Another Site W/O My Permission

I started getting calls from people viewing my profile on this site called eroticmonkey.com; However, I NEVER created a profile. When I realized someone created a profile for me, I searched and found it and clicked the "claim my profile" button. When I did that I was then redirected to a page telling me to log in. When I enter my info it won't let me sign in to claim the profile saying my log in info is invalid. No shit - I don't have the log in info because I never created the profile. I submitted the contact form on the site and of course, no response. I need and want to do something ASAP. I do NOT want a profile on the web I NEVER created and do NOT have access to.

What can I do legally as the site is not responding to any of my requests? They do NOT have permission to have anything about me posted.

They have had 10 changes on 7 unique IP addresses over 9 years. Not "real" bad, but it could be they keep getting booted from their hosting providers.

Looks like they are one of those trolling sites that grabs the information from TER, bp, etc and posts it on there sites. Here is a little reading for you.

saw your post about erotic monkey
I'm a provider on eccie in Dallas
--I also constantly get calls from guys who say they found info about me on erotic monkey-
--which I am Not on-
--no big deal-
--it is just more free advertising for you-
--talk to the guy--if you do not want to meet with him just tell him so--
-I have met some pretty decent guys who contacted me because they saw a review of me on erotic monkey
even though i have never applied to or posted on the site- (like you)-
-don't worry about being on erotic monkey
if he has called you, it is obviously because he saw something GOOD said about you on erotic monkey--- just another way to possibly get more clients
Hey Sherry,

As I mentioned privately, I have good reviews there; However, my main concern is that I've contacted management and they WILL NOT respond to me allowing me to update the incorrect data that was placed in my listing. I do not want a profile unless I can ensure MY INFO is correct and have access to sign in!!! I will be looking further into it.

Skbinks - TY for the links. It is appreciated.

I am concerned someone viewing a profile I didn't create, is viewing incorrect information and that may reflect negatively on me. I think it is important for a client to have up to date info on a lady he is serious about seeing. Just my perspective.

My advice to you is to hire a lawyer in your area to send the site a letter asking the site to delete your profile. Such a letter is called a 'take-down letter.'

Good luck.

Jon,
Can you clarify if that would be a "DMCA take down letter" or another type of take down letter.
Thx
Thanks for the info. Will look into that. Much appreciated - ty.

Not much anyone can really do about the "grab 'em & slab 'em" pseudo escort web sites, especially since many are hosted overseas. The way they operate is on "clicks" that they sell their advertisers.

Adult Friend Finder appears to be behind or affiliated with many of the pseudos. Heck, they even repost some of the stuff on BP, which, to me, make many BP ads even more suspect than they already are.

But, you can try to protect your images, to a degree, by "watermarking" the photos with a "slant diagonally across" watermark, such as your official website address or your particular email or phone. And, fwiw, if you own the actual copyrights of the photos, then stick a
©
circle c copyright mark on then and perhaps a DMCA warning might work.

Even worse than the "grab 'em & slab 'em" escort type websites are the "escort bust" sites that allege you have been busted by LE and may be working with them. I think only real newbies get upset or worried by that.

You are much better off being a regular on recognized and known public (and some of the private more local) sites in order to established your bonafide. (Speaking of which, I do appreciate yours!)
Well thank you ck. I actually created a new account but haven't set anything up yet. It will allow me access to maneuver around within the site as an account holder that "chose " to sign up. At least I can see from the inside if I have any options to change incorrect information on the account I didn't create...

Are you on TER? They sell off your info, and then profiles pop up on obscure escort sites.

NationalNet's very uh... easily intimidated. Wouldn't be too hard to get them thrown off of their hosting if one were motivated to do so.

Or if one were really motivated, things can happen to websites. Bad things.

Plus as.mentioned. When your info changes, you didn't make the profile, so you can't update it.

I agree. I argued with those who ran some of the sites and they are obviously douchebags, so it was wasted energy. If you really need them down hire an attorney as mentioned. However they may pop up somewhere else that week. Sucks, I don't like people to advertise for me to build their rep. They aren't doing anything for me but using me to look legit.

I get calls from there too. They took old pictures from here and reviews and made me a profile. It is quite annoying. Especially since so many things have changed.

Huh. I thought the client posted the review for me there. But, looking back I can see that they just pieced together the TER review I had the time. The weird thing for me was, it was a double review.
