to Porn or not to Porn

I have always wondered why some of the exceedingly alluring women that are on this board don't do porn. Wouldn't the money be better? and less issues with LE Etc? Just something I have always wondered.
Porn is a very nasty business often times. The life style is very crazy and I have known a few girls go that way. It is rarely as glamorous as it seems if you are not one of the top stars. These same girls said they would not talk anyone into doing it like they did providing.

However, I wonder why many don't do cam shows to fill in down times. Looks like a low cost barrier to entry and something is better than nothing or little. Don't even have to leave the house or screen or worry about STD's or getting pregnant.

Most porn actresses get paid a flat fee. There are few backend residuals in the porn industry. This means if the video sells a million copies she only has her flat fee and does not see another penny from that video. The exception would be if a woman made a video and marketed herself, then there could be some money . . . but with all the porn on the web it would probably not be a lot.
Porn is glutted. DVD sales fell by half in one year. The distributor's income per video is not that much - if anything - because of the proliferation of free porn tubes. Performers are typically paid for the session and that's it. The guys make almost nothing. I tried producing a few scenes, and the math quickly made it obvious that very few people are getting rich off of it, and certainly not the talent. Sites like clips4sale.com are probably the best bet for someone who wants to try it on an amateur level and make the income based on viewings.

Porn...UGH! I like the REAL DEAL baby!
With providing, a gal may be able to control her exposure, no pun intended. For instance, she can hide her face in providing, kind of hard to do that in porn. I would think that in porn, gal loses a lot of control over the product, that being her & her body.

She might be able to hide her profession as a provider from her family, perhaps continue on with a career, but in porn, never know when it will bite you in the butt.

Imagine the gal going to school to be a nurse, school teacher, etc. What happens when her porn career leaks out? Just maybe she can keep that career as a provider off of her resume a bit easier.

I guess I see providers as being more discreet in their advertising, whereas to make money in porn, as suggested by others above, you have to make a name for yourself in the industry.
You mean like this? Yes, it can limit your options.

Really a different topic, been discussed here before many times, but...

I used to think face pics were important, but as I learned how much more attitude enhanced the session, I also realized how much more discretion was important. Also, go read the thread about running into providers...

I've done a couple of videos for some ladies but nothing released. I'd say the best bet would be to have your own web cam type of site. But that takes a bit of work to do.
