RIP - Edgar Froese

heard while in Smell-Lay that the founding member of Tangerine Dream died 1.20.15.

Enjoy your new cosmic address, and thanks for the soundtrack to many long, late night drives, evenings full of youthful metaphysical cosmic debris and that sequencer thing that paid more than a few of my bills....

RIP. Good call man.
Too few people know who they are. Never forget the Train Ride theme from Risky Business.
These guys deserve the Godfather award for electronic and it's offshoots that are so popular today.

Man...have not heard that group mentioned in years...they did the movie soundtrack to "Thief" with James Caan, too...

Asked a girl the other day if that was a real poncho or a Sears poncho...she said "Huh?"
Look here, brother....
Did soundtrack to Sorcerer too. RIP

They played Dallas in 1998..an excellent show (but not their best time period). "Phaedra" is still one of my favourite lps. All of those early recordings on the Ohr and Virgin record labels are great listening for the adventurous . Modern trance and electronic music would not be the same without pioneers like Edgar Froese.
