Boycott Starbucks !!!!

I got this message from a friend who is a veteran. I understand not everyone understands the concept that our men and women unselfishly volunteer for the freedom of others but this is horrible .

( Semper Fi Marine. Hope you are well.
A good friend of mine sent me an e-mail about how Starbucks disrespected some of your fellow Leathernecks. They were deployed to the " STAN " and wrote a letter to Starbucks seeking any free samples they could get from the company. Starbucks sent back a response to their request that they ( Starbucks ) : don't support the war or its goals OR ANYONE INVOLVED IN IT !
I've never purchased anything from those pretentious pricks before and damn sure won't now. It's my intent to spread the word to as many vets and active duty folks as I come across. There is a Starbucks in Wilford Hall Military Medical Clinic, so I wonder how the company justifies taking the money of sick and wounded active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents and having a " no tolerance " for the very people that are deployed to protect their freedom ?
War has been declared by this former squid Marine !
Hope you and your " critters " are doing well. )

Starbucks could have respectively declined a response at all but to give this answer ?
Cadence: First of all, thank you for your service.

The Starbucks/Marines story is from 2004 and is false and is a hoax. https://www.snopes.com/. Keyword search “Starbucks, Marines.”

Starbucks is it’s own brand of evil for charging 4.95 for a cup of Joe, and you’re welcome to be pissed at them for other reasons, but you can leave this one in the Internet dumpster.
Cadence --

I'll underscore CoverMe's remarks: I've gone several times to the Oak Hills Starbucks (at Naco & New Braunfels), which has at least one military spouse -- identified as such on her name tag -- working behind the counter.

No, I will continue to buy from Starbucks: I like that they serve real coffee, vice the hot brown water I've gotten at other places; and I react adversely to Internet hoaxes peddled by the trolls of the Far Right.

Yeah it sux that this sort of ‘fake news’ gets spread and accepted just like crap that comes out of radio talk shows.

Before spreading ‘news’ that gets your dander up, be aware that folks do that BS for fun, sometimes for profit, and check with Snopes!
Starbz is a corporate evil for sure, but for diff reasons. They actually send a lot of free coffee to the men and women deployed overseas. Or at least did in recent years. Also Starbucks is only sort of real coffee. lol most of the menu could be sold at Dairy Queen.

I boycott Starbucks because:
1. Their coffee always taste burned
2. They bought out Seattles Best and I loved their Taza D'Oro.
There's starbucks on military installations everywhere....and I have never been there anyway because I don't drink coffee.

this is one of those Facebook chain letter type things that has gone one since at least 2006 that I know of. I doubt that it is true considering even military installation in the world has both stand alone Starbucks and others in most AAFES.

Don't believe the hype.
One thing for sure is -- at 9 of 10 locations their customer service SUCKS.. most run by kids who had NO idea what service is all about! Most locations are dirty-- hey it is a Food Establishment ! They have cut labor just to save a buck... I go to Local Coffee & they are packed.. they will make $$$ from all the customers S/Bucks loose. OK Rant over...LOL
If I’m not mistaken they’ve pledged to hire over 10,000 vets and have already achieved over 8,000 hires. Still not paying ten bucks for a cup of coffee though.
