Site Acting Funny Today?

Pages not loading etc? Is it the site, or my Mac?
Not just you at all, all day yesterday and today for me
I have a Mac Tony...and this morning this site has been sluggish to say the least...so much that I am logging off...Mods, hope my PMs went thru this morning.

I had the same problem last night (error messages in Chrome that is could not connect, or missing images/css for the page), not so much today. I thought it was my internet connection but all other sites were moving along just fine.
And without warning my PM box dropped to 50 messages capacity, and when
I chose to delete just Tuesday's messages, it nuked the entire inbox. I'd had some fun stuff in there that I was saving on purpose.

WTH, and why no responses from Management? It's been a couple of days...
Knife, this is Variable! Where the Hell are you!?!
(It actually seems better this morning...)

When your Premium Access expires, the system will delete everything over 50.

The other glitch of the system deleting all the PMs was likely operator errors. You have to be careful with which boxes you have a check on.
But it didn't delete anything, until I went to make some room.

And I *know* which box I checked.

Could you please point me to where it says that the system will actively delete such messages? The problem was not the drop in capacity, I knew about that, sorry if I suggested otherwise. The "without warning" was supposed to refer to the deletion.
I know I have seen you post about technical issues before, and my guess is you are knowledgeable about this site.

I read your phrase:

And without warning my PM box dropped to 50 messages capacity,
as if you weren't expecting it to happen when your PA expired, so my bad if my reading comprehension failed me on that one.

Since only you know what you did, I can't offer any explanation to your issue. It seems beyond the realm of what most folks can explain.

I'll give you one example using mine. My private messages total at this moment is 68 messages. 45 messages are in my Inbox folder and 23 are in my Sent folder. If my Premium Access were to expire, my storage capacity would drop to 50 total. Since my capacity drops, I expect the system to delete my excess over 50 to bring it down to the maximum of 50. If the programmer did things properly, I expect the system to delete the oldest messages from both folders, to get my Private messages within compliance.

It isn't written anywhere that I am aware of, but if your Max is 50 when your account reverts back to Valued Poster, and like in my case, you were over the maximum total, why should the Messaging system continue storing more than the maximum allowed for anyone?

Now, if you were under 50 messages when your PA expired and it still deleted your messages on its own, you'll need an expert to give you answers to that one. And if this is the case, I apologize for wasting your time. I was only trying to clarify things. And I know, sometimes we can make things worse despite any good intentions.

Good luck getting an answer to your question.

At the time I tried to nuke the messages from earlier this week, I had been under the limit (I *think*) but I had been reviewing each of the 300+ PMs I had at that time to determine "is this one I want to keep?" so they *had* been being stored and were accessible.

And then boom, it all went away, and no way to reclaim them.

Just a data point to be passed along to Ownership, so that they know.
