Not unless they want the economy to immediately collapse. Of course, if the Fed continues printing
money, the economy will still collapse. It will just be slightly later and the collapse will be more severe.

We're all on the Titanic. We've hit the iceberg and the ship is obviously sinking; but the band is still playing, and the captain is giving away free champagne and caviar. I guess we should enjoy it while we can.

If you print trillions of dollars buying back your own debt, the country sinks. The only lifeboats will be for the super rich and the politically well connected.
