Really new Obamacare numbers

JD Barleycorn's Avatar
You know those people who don't have healthcare...you know, the ones that needed Obamacare? Okay, the White House is now touting 2.2 million enrollees but it has been discovered that only 11% of those people never had healthcare. The rest of the new enrollees HAD health insurance before they signed up. Or all this has happened to cover 242,000 people or the population of Birmingham, AL. Why would someone "give up" their health insurance? First reason is that they had no choice. They got cancelled, needed, and could afford to enroll. The second is that they decided that paying for their healthcare on the private market was too expensive so they changed over to a policy that someone else would help pay for.

Gee, that's less than the feds have paid out to those bozos who set up the Obamacare website, isn't it?

But you can't tell a libtard to "do the math", can you? They are severely math-challenged. And since they love to spend other people's money, they don't give a rat's ass about finding simple, low-cost solutions.

I'm curious Flighty what your definition of success is come say the end of March 2014? How close do you think they are going to get to the 6 million newly insured people?

Those estimates differ from projections that CBO and JCT made in April 2010: About two million more uninsured people are now projected to pay the penalty each year, and collections are now expected to be about $3 billion more per year."

apparently morons don't want people to have insurance so they must want people to pay a penalty .

Some health insurance companies have pushed out the due date for first premium to Jan 30, 2014. So, there is still 10 calendar days left to pay. A lot of people wait to the last minute to pay their bills.

It's hard to say how many more will sign up. The more people that sign up and pay their premium the cheaper the rates will be for next year. I don't think they will get 6 million this year. I think they can get between 4 and 5 million. The website did not work for 2 months. Almost 2 million people signed up in December 2013 to have their insurance effective 1/1/14.

The bottom line is there is nothing preventing anyone from getting health insurance with the ACA and the expanded Medicaid. Regardless of income level or pre-existing conditions anyone can get health insurance in the individual market.

Not
-6 million people accessing the website
-6 million people registering on the website
-6 million people choosing a policy
-6 million people selecting and paying for a policy
but 6 million people who DID NOT have private insurance last year getting a new Obama approved private insurance policy and paying for it.

They aren't even close. You know all of the above. You are lying, or, at the least, fooling yourself.

You are lying again. Just because they signed up in Dec 2013 doesn't mean their insurance is effective 1/1/14. Their insurance becomes effective when they begin making payments. They have until the end of January. Obama and the insurance company may even extend that time.

The bottom line is there is nothing preventing anyone from getting health insurance with the ACA and the expanded Medicaid. Regardless of income level or pre-existing conditions anyone can get health insurance in the individual market. Originally Posted by flghtr65
