Which Hobby Phone ?

OK after several years of using a Net 10 phone and loosing lots of money as I use it primarily for texting, and short phone calls, so the time runs out before the minures do. Then I got screwed ( not in a good sense) when I bought a refill and it was the wrong kind and that cost me $100 more ( lost $). So which phone ( cheap) are you finding works best?
