435/87 motel robbery

Did anyone catch that on news last night. Guy was rushed in his car at 435/87th street motel. They demanded his phone. Tried to steal car, but couldn't drive the manual transmission. To me, sounded like he arrived, called his date and these thugs rushed him. Anyone hear of anything..

Not really a hobby alert since there is nothing to actually tie this to the hobby.

This will come to an end soon thank goodness. This ghetto ass area will be wiped out by Cerner.
Thugs and their girls will need a new place to mug people.

The expansion area also includes what neighbors and city officials describe as two blighted motels, the A-1 Motel and Capital Center Inn, both at 6101 E. 87th St., and the former Montgomery Ward store at 8844 Hillcrest Road.
“It would be a huge plus for the area if those buildings came down and Cerner went all the way to 87th Street,” said Carol McClure of the Southern Communities Coalition. “We are excited about Cerner, no question about that.”

I've said for a while that a stick shift is one of the the best anti-theft devices going. Unfortunately, they are getting harder and harder to find.
