I have a friend who is unable to provide proof of employment to rent an apartment. She has plenty of money, just no W2 or W9s. No business to be conducted from and no drugs. Also no barter. She will pay in cash several months in advance if needed. Doesn't want any sort of "trade" deal. She will pay promptly. The general Sugarland area is desirable

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. You may PM to me.

Seriously Bro?

Anyone who helps her will soon understand the old saying:
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

If she pays a year up front, no apt will care about her employment.

I wouldn't trust her if she can't do her own legwork. She might need help setting up electric, walking her dog, mowing her lawn, etc too if she can't even look on Craigslist for a house for rent by owner.

A true cynic as always. She actually could pay a year up front - $9,600. Some scumbag (I'm assuming now - not in evidence) got her a six figure settlement in a care wreck. Always happy to hear from you CB.

Katie - that's a good idea. Why didn't I think of that? Trying to rent on that basis never occurred to me. Never had to do that personally. Constructive. Thanks.

She is lucky to have you.

If she can pay a year she should have no problem moving anywhere unless she is a sex offender. It is shocking how hard things are for some people. I wonder how they manage to cross the road sometimes.
