There's a place in Big Spring TX (don't know if it's still open or not) called The Stampede.

When I was in HS / College we'd take a roadtrip over there to listen to Jody Nix and his band. The place was BYOB and dance till you drop, it was always a good time and we called it "Going to the Stomp". Don't know where it came from, but if you said you were going to the Stomp on Saturday pretty much anyone on the South Plains knew what you meant.
