On Branding Yourself -- Boys' Edition

(This is in response to the heated "no fatties, uglies, trannies" thread, but enough off that topic to be stated elsewhere.)

I am always kind of tickled by how much pride some men find in the perceived quality of providers that they tend to book. And it baffles me endlessly. A sex worker who has a posted donation agreed to spend time with you for the exchange of said donation. Congratulations? And it really is completely silly, because quality is so goddamn subjective, especially when it comes to BCD time.

I first encountered this phenomenon back in 2007 when I was in the middle of a session (literally, on my knees and mouth open wide) with a much older businessman. He was commenting on the high level of my french skills, told me I was pretty, and then he told me that I would never see him again. He began flashing his frequent diner cards of all of the "really hot" providers that he normally books with -- Ava, Mia Moore, some UTR girl that was in porn, etc. He even went on to tell me how hot his trophy wife was. Um, OK? I was at a total loss for words and happy to have my mouth otherwise occupied, although I'm sure his taking shots at my ego was enough to make me give a much less stellar performance from there on out. You'd be surprised how often this has happened (in one way or another) since.

I've never studied sociology, so I don't have the right words to completely express what I'm trying to say, but it boils down to something like this: A provider isn't a Rolex that you wear to signal a certain level of class, wealth, or prestige. I'm not speaking from some third-wave feminist "stop objectifying women like you would a watch" perspective. I am speaking from a "I've had a lot of sex with a lot of different men" perspective and I can honestly say that hard abs, youthful stamina, and a pretty face do not make someone a great lover. Sure, great lovers come in awfully pretty, shiny packages sometimes, but other times they don't. And for those of us who have figured this out, flashing reviews of the "youngest, hottest, and priciest" as some sort of trophy is fucking hysterical, especially when donation is involved.

That is all.

I'm always amazed too, is this so really hard to just enjoy the gift that you lovely ladies give us, yes it is a gift no matter how much one pays or has. Giving of oneself has no price and I just don't get it. If you ladies, and I mean all the ladies did not give themselves this place would be a very lonely place, thank you your gifts.

I may be wrong but the other topic, along with this one, just serve as lessons in developing a thicker skin.

I've been in the position of providing specialize culinary items and it always amazed me at the number of people who offered up suggestions to "improve" the products. You just smile, nod your head and pocket their money. There was enough money out there that I wouldn't risk the "tired and true" in order to satisfy one person.

Spells and Voodoo dolls with name tags are great therapy.
It's not really the thick skin thing, I don't think. I think I'm hot, my clients and fuck buddies think I'm hot, I know I'm not everyone's type, and I know not everyone is my type.

What it is about is guys bragging about the level of providers they see and me finding that silly. It's only tangentially related to the other thread, which is why I started a new one.

I think it is more than whom we see that brands us, it is also the words that come out of our mouths that brand us to who we are and what kind of a person we are. To say its just a posting board is an excuse, true colors eventually come out and they are both one and the same. Most will brand me as a WN or a nice guy, is that who I am, only the ones that really know me know that, I'm ok with that.

Like I said.... I may be wrong. (Now I have to look up that word. Fairly certain it has nothing to do with tangerine testicles.)

Some men (and women) need their egos stroked and find various ways to have it done. Not every woman I have sex with is a "10". Far from it. But I enjoy each one for what it is and savor the moment.

So I had a somewhat related thought recently as I've been evaluating what types of hobby experiences I've really enjoyed the most. The thing I realized is that I prefer "women" to "girls". Maturity matters to me more than a youthful appearance, though they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. My guess would be that you prefer "men" over "boys", regardless of their age or abs.

Many lurk and hobby just fine with never posting (and when they do they get pounced on by the misogynists on this board). Just because she is young and hot doesn't mean she will fill the need.

If there was only one need for young hotties, then there would not be any other women around her to see, I see plenty of mature ladies to see. I enjoy the young ladies too, but I have a very broad appetite in women. I don't care what the bros think of me or street cred or any of the BS, I'm here to enjoy the ladies not the misogynists.

Actually, the more I venture into adulthood, the more surprised I am at how much of it reminds me of things I first encountered in high school...

Like young girls, like older women, like porn star replicas, like girl next door types, point is...it doesn't make your dick bigger or wiser or whatever. Now if you're boning Sasha Grey on the regular and not paying for it, you have my attention and I will give you credit since credit is surely due. But then again, if you were the type of guy who could do that, you'd probably not be the type to brag about it. Just as the type of clients who are suave enough to turn an hour into four aren't the ones who come on here to boast.
