Well, TEXDOT-GUY is right in a way . . .immigration has always been the future of the USA.
WE do, as a Nation, need to have regular infusions of immigrants. But what we have today is an unregulated, uncontrolled and untracked influx of foreign nationals by the millions. Many of these people are considered undesirable in their homelands. Many of these people have exotic illnesses endemic to their home countries, but essentially unknown or rasr here. Some have skills and education that could contribute to our society, but the great majority do not. A significant proportion were career criminals at home and continue to prey on society here in the US. It is a sure thing tht among the unknown, untraceable millions who have entered the country since 2020, there are organized sleeper cells of terrorists or special operations folks waiting orders from their various controllers at home.

Did I miss any?
What Trump and his supporters are saying about immigrants is designed specifically to cause fear, to create a common enemy, and then use that fear to gain power or to keep power. I mean what’s better for convincing people to do your bidding but fear. And once they convince you of the enemy they tell you that only they can protect you.
Migrants are not the enemy. They deserve compassion and a chance for a better life. I’m not calling for an open border so please don’t say that I am. We need to understand that our society needs these immigrants and we need to support a system of immigration reform that puts more resources into controlling the influx of immigrants as well as integrating them into our society.
Mass deportation is not the answer. A path to citizenship is.
These people want to join our society. We don’t need to make the process easy. I think that they should work for it. But the process does need to exist. That process will never happen if we continue to elect people who refuse to work together to solve the problem. And that problem today is people like Trump, Greg Abbot and Ron Desantis. People who use the demonization of migrants to push their political careers.
