positive customer service

it seems like a lot of times only the negative gets mentioned, so i thought i'd share a positive experience that happened to me today.

i had a really nice 100 lap ironman watch---it was prob about 3-4 years old. one side of the wristband broke right in the middle. the band couldn't be replaced, it would have to be repaired. i called timex and they told me to mail it in and include a check for $10 for the repair. i got the box from timex today in the mail. i opened it up and the watch spilled out unrepaired, but the check wasn't returned. i was already composing a nasty letter in my head, when i noticed that under some tissue in the box was a brand new 100 lap ironman watch and a receipt showing payment in full for $10. i just looked up the new watch online and it sales for $70. needless to say, i'm now composing a letter to them praising their gesture.

anyone else have some positive customer service stories to share?

i have been blessed with lots of good service recently. i purchased a new car from a local dealer this spring and have been very pleased with the level of service i got before, during and after my purchase.

I went to go get a new set of tires at discount tires..after they got the old wheels of there was some kind of problem with the bolt that was used previously was bad and the wrong one..they told me I would have to buy a new set of wheels on top of the 4 new tires I just bought...The manger offered me a buy 2 get 2 free deal but my credit card was not agreeing with the extra unexpected charge ..any way to make a long story short the manger said to me that he would rather I be safe then worry my old wheel and tire went flying off so he gave a nice brand new set of wheels for free........Awesome customer service
