Say, I've been asked by an anonymous friend here to emphasize a few points, which seems like a very good idea. As I'm not a legal maven, I defer to those who have more knowledge in the area. So don't shoot me; I'm only the messenger. First, thanks in part to our Patriot Acts, we can be arrested by any LE officer in MO at anytime for virtually anything. (Fortunately for me, I am no one (small 'h', and I seem ineligible to do anything at any time.) Second, as the law formerly read, people were getting away on legal technicalities in the Metro courts when charged by KC. Third, as a result of the legal change, the cases stay here in city court instead of going to district. That means more money for KC. Hooray for KC! Sorry, I got carried away.
I suppose the moral of the story is to be no one, do nothing, and go nowhere...or at least have a good attorney. Then again, if I were standing in my front yard with no ID, my luck is that I'd be arrested for loitering and not having proper identification.
