They will win by double figures, no need to even bring up Dre and Casey for this one.

Well this seems like a "trap game" to me. We should win, but if you saw the Monday night game against the Ravens, it's pretty scary.

Looks like Casey is coming back. Johnson is day to day.

I was very disappointed with the play of our defensive captain- DeMeco Ryans. Something is not right with him, maybe the 3-4 is not his strength. But I'm happy with the play of Cushing, he's adjusting well.

On the offensive side, having Casey back and a revigorated Foster should make the offense do well. OD is playing well. If we could get consistent performance from Jacobi, that would be great.

As far as Matt Schaub, even though he had a great game, I'm not convinced we can go far with him. He has a lot of flaws and I just don't see him as a leader.

About Schaub, I don't really know how far he can take us, but outside a hand full of quarterbacks, who's really better? After the other night, I would take Schaub over Flacco.

Satin, say hello to your 104 different wives for me!

DaMeco is still a doing a good job. But he's still coming off surgery, and his numbers are way down because of the new defense, he's only on the field 40% of the time. and he's only going to play when we need to stop the run. But he was great against Oakland and Pittsburgh, we'll need him come playoff time. But honestly, it wouldn't shock me if we got rid of him and Mario Williams after the season, we've got other talent and the 3-4 doesn't really fit them. Personally, I'd love to maybe trade one of those guys for Petyon Manning, if possible, doubt it can happen though.

Schaub has had his issues and will continue too. That said, there are only about 7 guys you would want at QB in the league over him. It's hard to complain about that, you succeed with a top 10 QB.

About DeMeco, even though I really like the guy, in the business of the NFL he could be seen as damaged goods. The achilles problems is one that takes a lot of time to get over.

Don, my man you better lay off the liquor if you think there's any way we will trade Mario bro...not gonna happen. And for Peyton Manning, you really can't be serious? No way Jose that will EVER happen. There's a better chance I will pay $500 for a HJ in a strip club....lol

And you really feel Matt Schaub is a top 7 QB? Man, you obviously are not watching the other quarterbacks in the league. As much as I can't stand Eli Manning and Tony Homo, I would take either one over Schaub. Dude, has NO scrambling capabilities, throws numerous costly interceptions (including pick 6's) & has the best receiving core in the NFL.

On defense, I'm also loving JJ Watt & "The Ninjah"...dude cracks me up.

Dj, yeah bro the wives are dong fine. This Saturday for Halloween should be interesting....

We've got lots of depth at the LB position, if we could some how get the best QB in the league for one of the two guys, no doubt I think you pull the trigger, you almost have to. Very few QB's end up finishing their careers with the same team. But I hope the Colts do win a game and don't have to draft Andrew Luck, I'd rather deal with manning for X amount of years rather than see Luck for 15 straight Seasons.

Like I a said, if the Colts go 0-16, which can happen, they will draft Andrew Luck. And if that happens, they will shop around Manning. And I don't want this to happen, but if the Colts somehow don't win a game, we might as well make the best out of it. Just sayin'.

In no order, these are the top QB's in the game, the "Red chips" if you will:

Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers
Phillip Rivers
Ben Roethlisberger

Now, here are the list of "Blue Chip" guys, in no order:

**If Healthy**Michael Vick
** If Healthy** Matt Stafford
Matt Schaub
Matt Ryan
Josh Freeman
Tony Romo
Eli Manning
Jay Cutler

Out of that list, I'd take Schaub. And I've never been the biggest Schaub guy, but would you really want Eli or Romo? I'll give you that he's immobile and can't move, but throwing bad picks? Which games this year has he preformed that bad in (Turnover-wise)? Romo is the God of folding under pressure for late game Picks and Eli is a pick six machine. Granted, I don't have the numbers in front of me, But I'd be willing to bet Eli has more INT's overall and Romo has had more turnovers overall, than Schaub, Romo, all by himself, cost Dallas two games this season alone (Jets, Lions). Say what you will about Schaub, he's not had any melt-down games like Romo has had this year. I think the Cowboy fans can back me up on that. Plus, Schaub has also lead the league in passing for two straight years and is on pace for another 4000 yard season. I think that makes up for his Picks and arm strength issues.

And I get what you're saying about the INT's. but look at the list of guys who aren't the Red Chips, they all have issues with turnovers, especially Vick and Cutler. And I don't buy that we have the best or even the top receiving core, outside of Dre, we don't have much. But we make up for that with our RB's and TE's. Teams like the Packers, Cowboys, Eagles, and Saints I think are more loaded.

Don, one thing I have to say about you, even when or if I disagree with you, you always have nice sound reasons and rationale for what you say. I totally respect that. This is just a friendly discussion of us guys who are not paid GM's for the NFL, so it's good to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions right or wrong.

You made some good points. I don't necessarily agree with all of them, but very good info. I'll try to elaborate more later...

Ps: I think it would be great to bring you, Dj & JAD to a game. It would be more fun than trying to explain a "first down" to my girlfriend and whatever other 2 knuckleheads I bring..lol

I will as well!

I'd be on board with that, chief.
I agree with Don, Schaub is not a top 5 but is certainly a top 10 qb. I Personally would rather have him than Romo or Eli, even though they are more gifted athletically. The biggest fault I had with Schaub was his durability early in his career but he seems to have dispelled that myth. As for us trading for Manning, it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime. Schaub is good enough to take us to the playoffs. He is not the problem!

I have always been a proponent that defense separates the good from the great teams. I would have liked to know how good Mario was going to become under Wade's defensive scheme. Brooks Reed is a very good replacement but he is not Mario! Then again, there are very few defensive players with the physical tools Mario has. As for DeMeco, he is not the same player that he was before the injury but he is the leader of their defense. A 80% DeMeco is still better than most MLB's!

I predict the Texans will finish 10-6 and win a game, perhaps two, in the playoffs! I do not see a Super Bowl without a 90-95% Mario and DeMeco on the field! Perhaps the stars will align next year!

Well you boys are way higher on Schaub than me, cause from the list Don put up, there are surely at least 10 QB's I rate ahead of Schaub. It's just the "hometown mentality" kicking in for you fellas..l
Eli isn't great, but the last time I checked, he won a Superbowl, but Schaub hasn't even sniffed the playoffs, so end of discussion on that.

This game tomorrow scares me a lot.

So Bigtex, how bout our Coogs; 9 TD passes? Are you freaking kidding me? The boy got skills.....

Funny thing with me is actually, I used to be the biggest Matt Schaub hatter, quite possibly, in all of America...I thought getting him originally was idiotic, and it wasn't until he separated his shoulder in a Jags game a few years ago until I finally just had respect for him. Going into last season, I thought it was a make or break deal for him, but having the shittiest defense in history kind of took away from that. But overall, he met my standards. But he does throw those dumb picks from time to time, has arm strength of a 11 year old, and he's immobile, and he's still better than 80% of the starting QB's in the league! It's sad, but true, just look at how many teams have gone QB changes in the past couple years. It's scary. And that Superbowl Eli had was mostly in part due to the Giants Defense and Running game (Including a game where Romo played very poopy). All he had to do was manage the team, and have a miracle drive to make them win, which to his credit, he did. But if you compare what he did to what Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees have done in previous seasons. I think there is another level he needs to get on before we put him up with the elites.

Texans have a shit history against playing Rookie QB's. That said, it's MOTHERFUCKING BATTLE RED DAY. So yeah, those Power-Ranger jerseys alone will cause us to win by at least double digits, Vegas has it at 11. I'd take the line at 20.

And Fuck Yeah, COOGS. I've had many orgasms due to them in the MOTHERFUCKING NCAA THREAD.
Go Texans!
Draft Keenum and bring him along slowly behind Shaub!
