I have 4400 watts of photovoltaic panels. That is enough power to allow us [during daylight, from 8am to 4pm] to operate every home appliance that we have. The lifestyle changes happen when the sun is not out. Then we are restricted to how much amperage we have in our battery-bank.

Last year, we got a plug-in hybrid Prius sedan. We charge it from our solar power system.

I don't see how you can use solar cells in Houston. The pollen is so thick at various times of year, you'd be washing them off constantly.

I am a farmer. I can not swing a dead cat without hitting another tax depreciation.

Even without the tax credits, you still get the depreciation.
