Say Goodbye to Backpage. First CL now Backpage

You can tell it is an election year when they start going after us hard working folks.

First they attacked CL trying to lump us in with XXXX molesters, druggies and human traffickers, now they are going after Backpage. According to the article their has been an investigation ongoing since 2009 involving Backpage.

You would think our AG would have more important crimes to fight than attacking and making consenting adults criminals.

Just make it legal, reap the tax benefits from legalizing it and leave us the hell alone! I am not a criminal or druggie just a hard working person who likes making donations to better and help other people out.

Don't Tread on us!!!!
What is the best alternative to find fun if this happens, i tend to use it first and other sites to verify. I would be curious to know what you think and the rest of the board as well. Feel free to PM if need be. Thanks

Once they remove the adult services ads, they will move on to the personal ads, and try to police kinky, private sex acts that the sex police find to be unwholesome.
They make so much money off people posting in that section. I would think it would be a major monetary loss to them if they comply.
Lately it is sooo hard to tell the real from the fake that it is easier to go with the known quantity anyway.

I am thinking this might be a boost for Agencies?
That was my thought Allie They already have a pretty tight system over at bp from what it looks like. I cant imagine how much money they would lose.

Backpage is part of the Village Voice publishing empire, based out of NYC. If you know anything about the Voice, you would realize that they will not be pushed around. I seriously doubt that the Voice will abandon this product.
I spoke with my guy at backpage who is in Texas and he doesn't know what is going to happen. He said as of now, its business as usual.

Catnip, a boost to agencies that have a good rep. There's always agencies out there who are just trying to make a quick buck and don't care who they "hire."
I actually cant wait until the adult section gets shut down on bp. Right now 95% of it is scams and girls that have such crappy service they are afraid to post in this forum. If they did post here and continued to provide such lack luster services they would be ran out of business in no time.

It was only a matter of time before they turned on BP. They won't stop there, either. You can bet that places like Cityvibe, P411, Eros, Escorts.com, TER, and eventually even boards like this will be targeted, unless a precedent is set somewhere along the way that stops them.

To say they wouldn't post on forums such as ECCIE is absurd because this board is no different from any other escort board/site, I.E., you take the good with the bad. Ladies who offer what you call lack luster services exist on this board, just as they exist on boards/sites. Hell, some gals might not even know this site exists.

Some of you hobbyists seem to think that ECCIE makes or breaks a provider, but that isn't true. This board has carved out their lil niche just like other sites have where providers advertise or reviews are offered. Never depend on one site for advertising or reviews.
I'm just saying that if they post here they better have their act together or they will have some negative reviews, or worse, alerts.

The real question no one is asking is how long before the AG's decide to target websites/boards like this that cater to this type of activity.
DD,

I'm sure its in their radar. But, I would also ask.....when is election day for each AG that has joined the "fight?" Once election day is over with, they'll go back to daily routines and I'm sure one of them have used our services before and will again.
