Wor, thanks for notice. Yes be on the look out for too good to be true ads on stg and other places.
Are those misdemeanors that aren’t supposed to be arrested any longer under the McClendon settlement of a few years ago?
Always happens around the Balloon Fiesta.

Apparently they can seize your car too. https://www.koat.com/article/apd-get...s-cars/4408379

I find the whole public shaming tactic to be disturbing. From reading the reports, it seems APD doesn't really care about actual human trafficking, it's just a lot easier to target Johns and independent providers.
So, since this IS a petty misdemeanor, and not a violent crime, all 16 of those guys have a lawsuit on their hands, since they were arrested and not just issued citations, as per the settlement agreement.

I don't understand -- are they impounding the pimp's vehicle or the john's?
Yes, it is a petty misdemeanor - up to 1 yr. jail time and $500 fine. Few if any ever get prosecuted. The public shaming is in their mind a better detterent and punishment instead of prosecution.
If you are on the streets in your vehicle caught during a solicitation then yes they can confiscate your vehicle. That law was enacted a few years ago. I am not sure if they can keep it or just impound with all the fees and such.

NM, and Albuquerque in particular, have no interest in following State, or Federal law.
Keller is a suck up and clearly follows closely in the footsteps of the governor.
While this situation affects THIS community, it is not even remotely the only example of ignoring law, and doing what makes them “feel” good.
The powers that be, here in NM, are clearly no better than the thugs they claim to be against.
