Catch-22: how to get screened your first time if there are no references?

The dilemma is I’m planning my first visit in many years so I don’t have any references, yet all providers are asking for that. What are my options?

For what it’s worth, I’d be staying at a luxury hotel on business, maybe that reduces the risk factor somehow?

Don't get discouraged, your entering the hobby at probably the worst time. Lots of $$ with all the stimulus checks means less women who need fast cash.

I am sure there are other ways to verify you than calling 2 random workers you have seen them.
