Uber cards

I was given some free ride cards for this service by someone that was visiting Houston and had not used the remaining cards. I have never used this service so, can somebody tell me if this is service is good? The cards are for a ride up to $20 and say "for first ride only" on the back. I have four cards at $20 each. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
Don't know anything about them, but I have heard of them. Read some stuff that was in Dallas coed, might try a forum search in coed there.

The search function is at the top right corner of every forum.

Uber is a cool service, but this topic isn't hobby related and as such I'm moving this to Sandbox for further discussion.

Used them several times and my experience was great. Picked up within minutes of calling. I'm inside loop, so, experience may be different out in the 'burbs. But app shows how many cars and how close to your location. Once you get to destination, no fucking around with payment. Billed to card on file. Too bad they can't pick up at the airport - or they couldn't about two months ago. Rules may have changed, now.

Just be aware of their surcharges during special occasions. When they get really busy, i.e. storms, New Year's eve, etc., they will charge more based on demand. But they make it very clear what the surcharge is upfront. This has upset many people in the past but, personally, I'm in favor of it. Basic supply and demand. Raise the price when demand is high and that will bring out more cars.

Used them last week from downtown to IAH. $35 and they took the Hardy which was my preferred route, so tolls included. No tipping. All cashless. Used the app to book it and the guy was there with a nice car in 3 minutes. If you live in the boondocks I'm not sure how quick a response you'll get. I read that they've reached an agreement with COH for pickups at the airports. Going to try when I fly in this week.
