Can't seem to get my animated avatar to work.

I want to make my Christmas avatar "revolve" the way I've seen some other ECCIE avatars do. While I had no trouble making a GIF animation using Picasion.com, it doesn't seem to work once I download it to the avatar box on the User Control Panel, yet it appears fine inside threads. Suggestions, please? Thanks.
