Do you remember

when there was a certain someone here, cough, cough "Eye" who claimed over and over this past year that the republicans were cheating by their redistricting efforts. And he said the left never does this?

Well the results are in, and what do you know, the libs are the ones who were massively cheating by their redistricting efforts.

Republicans have received 51.5% of the House vote so far while Democrats have received 46.6%. If this had happened before the new districts were drawn, that +5 GOP lead would have won them about 25 seats. That’s the impact of partisan redistricting.

Partisan gerrymandering is problematic

But if folks are going to play the game, they better learn how to win.

Of course it happens. Shouldn't. But does.

At the end of the day the gerrymandering of a district doesn't guarantee an outcome. It makes it easier for one side to win. The planned outcome still require certain levels of turnout to be successful. That's after the maps survive legal challenges and why counting the actual votes is so damn important. It's why voter suppression is often the argument of the loser.

If a district was changed to give an advantage to one side and they still lose... that's a beautiful thing IMO.

Berry's Pepperidge Farm dig at Eye here is mostly sour grapes which will taste better when paired with the dulcet tones of the Great Prophet Lemmy.

Not really, but I do remember when YOU said....

I have previously commented on that several times. I am not going to repeat myself Originally Posted by berryberry

Dems are currently creating the votes they need to keep the house. Maybe one day in the future, probably not though, we will again live in a country with a legitimate government.

I know you may dislike these actual facts but you may want to take that up with the NY Times, not me
