The NBA Season

What up? Are they just going to leave it hanging? Not trying to make this a political thread. The league should have an abbreviated playoffs. Perhaps the top 4 teams of each division playing best out of 3 tourney. Empty stadiums. Neutral site if needed. I know LeBron doesn't like this. If the team and their players don't want to participate take the next best team. Team may pick up 2 extra players from DLeague or other league. Get it over.

MLB looks like a total loss.
Or start the playoffs and let them play. Larry Bird and the early 90s Celtics would of loved this long break.

Plus it would be super good for sports to restart. Sports are emotional and provide an outlet during tough times.

I’m sure the league commish and the owners errr I mean governors are waiting on Lebrons okay to start up in some capacity
Supposedly the NBA is trying to finish the season at some Disney facility in Florida. Disney owns ESPN.

It would be super good for the nation if sports were to return.
Agreed. I believe it is "safe" for it to return to normal or at least safe to return with major modifications. But at this point many politicians are using the lockdowns as weapons.
Supposedly to "restart" July 31st. With all the Floyd riots going on now and some states looking for excuses to extend the COVID lockdowns --- really who cares?

Any joy that the playoffs start (and finish) will be eroded by political posturing and virtue signaling.

Goodbye 2019-2020 NBA season. They'll be lucky if they aren't crippled by these incidents.

Supposedly 22 teams will restart. Normally 30 teams.
Yes! This is good news. Sports needs to come back to give us an outlet!

If there is no danger, covid wise, of 60000 people can gather in Discovery green, or any other city center to protest, I don't see why it would be any more dangerous for 20000 to attend a sporting event.

Owners of the arenas will care, they would be the ones named in any law suites. Same reason restaurants that could open, are not.
Get the fans to sign a release form.....not difficult

I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of 60000 protesters gather in a small area being healthy but letting a couple hundred people sit down in a restaurant being unsafe.
In reality I've got no problems with a peaceful protest. What I have a problem with is them being encouraged to come out when we've wrecked our economy over the last two months because people were told to stay home.

Anyone else notice the conspicuous absence of Comandante Hidalgo over the last few days?
