Deposits of any size are, in my opinion, a certain electronic cash and dash. Sorry that happened, but really no surprise.

Not certain, but probable. Personally in the entire time that I've hobbied over multiple decades, I've been asked for a deposit four times. Two times were a scam and two times were entirely legit. All four times I was worried, and the two scams had enough red flags that I have no one to blame but myself.

One of them led to one of my best experiences ever with a truly unbelievable touring lady. I think at the very high end of the market deposits are usually required. And when they are asking $$$$$$$/hr and up, I can certainly understand the idea of a deposit.
