Ah, it's through Mastodon.

It would behoove everyone to read through Mastodon and how it works.

Any person, you - me - the guy down the street - can set up what they call an "instance" on Mastodon. The idea is that Mastodon does all the hosting and whatnot but claim to never interfere on instances and let whoever is running it call the shots. No selling of personal info, no gov't interference, etc etc. The person running the instance gets to decide what material is deemed as "objectionable" and all that.

I would be down for this, but I am curious to know who is running the particular 'switter" instance.
