I may be the only one, and if so, I'm fine with that. So let me state this for the record: DON'T F___ING CALL ME OR TEXT ME UNSOLICITED!!! If you do, I WILL NOT call or text you back. Lately I've got the "Help!" text, and "Sorry, my phone wasn't working. Call me back." text. Strange thing is — I didn't flippin' call you in the first place. Then there is the two calls that came in a few weeks ago, that I just noticed today. See, my hobby phone is set to a perpetual DO NOT DISTURB because I don't want you calling or texting me UNLESS I ask you to. If you need to contact me unsolicited, send me a PM, otherwise, I will put you on perpetual ignore!
A lot of providers have sent unsolicited text to Trees.

+ This is new phone and I am organizing my most important contacts

+ Just checking to see if you still remember me (often omit name/handle)

+ I am in town and horny cum see me baby

+ U got any Trees for me? need some now babe..

+ Things are bad can you help me

....

and LOTS of others above most common only... Its coming from saved contact and have had met face to face and bcd, will always try to respond politely and give thoughtful response. Why not. If it "comes of nowhere" DO NOT RESPOND. ANY response whatsoever is a reward undeserved.

Right? If she is texting a hobby phone is mostly no harm no foul, especially if provider and hobbyist have met... Right?

I only have one hobbyist that I text unsolicited. But he has no SO and has been a HUGE blessing in my life.

Other than that, nope. I think it would be rude of me to do, so I don't.

i keep my hobby phone shut off unless i need it.
if someone sends me an unsolicited text they go on my do not see list.
it shows a complete lack of discretion and business sense and i want no part of it
