The North Koreans are missing a sure thing. They should take a page from the Communist Chinese in Macau/Hongkong and formally monetize sex in NorKor.

In my vision, they would turn political prisons and labor camps for women into state run pay-for-sex brothel complexes. It could start off small with high quality porn productions bringing in crypto money from the internet and use that to finance an all-inclusive resort complex to rival \what goes on in Macau China.

Their economy is so small already that this could be a major governmental money stream.

It would appear that the OP has forgotten that the Japanese did something similar during World War 2.
The Term then was Comfort Women.

The fundamental problem is that the powers that be in NK are not oriented towards any service oriented business . . .or any business really. The Chinese had this angle figured out for Macau and Hong Kong, at least before Covid came alone. Now they too are focused on suppression and control every where.

In the Dutch East Indies, on Java to be exact. The Japanese Imperial Army went to internment camps, that held Dutch nationals. The called out all the girls/women from 17-27. They selectively picked the most attractive and loaded them up for a number of officer's brothels. They were forced to work every day. They serviced officers and officials. Up to 10 a day I think. Those that refused were threatened to be sent to the barracks. There they would live in worse conditions and service at least 50 enlisted men a day. After the war, the Dutch tried a number of the Japanese. Sentenced one to death and others to long prison terms.

There will bite it off. Trust me there eat any thing over there.

Well they are already being brutally abusive in N. Korea, so what I am suggesting is probably not the worst thing going on.

Anyway . . .I'll take it back. The reality is that no one should be brutalized in any way.
