ISO Cheap CT Scan in Dallas area

Not to bring down the Christmas, enlightened mood or anything but... Anybody know where I can get a fairly inexpensive CT scan in the Dallas area? It's for the chest area. I'm sure I don't have lung or esophageal cancer, but kinda wanted to make sure as I have a symptom or two. I'm only 29, but still. These days, it's best to detect it early.

Any advice or places to get scanned cheaper would be great.

Randy Galloway used to hawk some bioscan deal. They used scan your entire body. Try googling bioscan Dallas and see what pops up.

Usally you can go to an outpatient clinic and have this done....In Norfolk, Va, there was Sentera, which was a part of the Sentera Hosiptal Chain, great group of individuals worked there....If you have company insurance if should be free....

It varies. Call and tell hem that 1) you're willing to pay cash, and 2) that you'll schedule at THEIR convenience. That helps on both accounts. Of course, you're also going to have to pay for the radiologist to read it.

But if you have any symptoms, the better course is to go to a doctor for a consultation. Getting a scan is probably unnecessary, and if you need a test, my be the wrong test. It would be highly unlikely to have cancer at your age. GERD, Barrett's esophagus, etc. are much more likely. If you're a heavy drinker, you might also be concerned with varices in your lung, quite a serious condition, that should be treated immediately and will likely not show up on a plain CT scan (but will be seen on MRI).

slims099,

There can also be a build up on the lungs from internal causes such as from the winter months were one may cough a lot...I eat a lot of cough drops....

Do not want to see anyone get bad news, also it is best to get a second opinion....Ask for a copy of all reports and take these to another doctor...
