“Thomas Jefferson was a slaveholder who owned over 600 human beings,” Councilmember Adrienne Adams, co-chair of the Black, Latino and Asian Caucus, said in a presentation last month. “It makes me deeply uncomfortable knowing that we sit in the presence of a statue that pays homage to a slaveholder who fundamentally believed that people who look like me were inherently inferior, lacked intelligence, and were not worthy of freedom or right.”

8-0 voted in favor of this. Are you calling all of NYC radical leftists? Or just the 8 people who voted on this? . . in 2021?

A statue of Thomas Jefferson has been in N.Y. City Council chambers for 106 years. Commissioners voted to remove it.

"For Charles Barron, Monday’s vote was decades in the making. The New York state assembly member first demanded the statue’s removal in 2001 when he was on the city council."

The statue had been in the chamber for 106 years, not 187 years. They have wanted it moved for over 20 years.
