What kind of food and what kind of bars?

I try to leave town during SXSW, but unfortunately I'll be stuck here for at least the first two days.

1. Food places I like - barley swine, uchiko, dai duo, odd duck, jack allens, easy tiger new north location, hopdoddy, ramen tatsui-ya, and my favorite,Emmer and Rye
2. Yup for south by sw
3. P10 and Palazzio considered better by most, yellow rose and ricks are ok at night and weak during earlier hours
Just my .02 cents
Check EaterAustin.com for updates on the food situation in Austin. Also check the website for the Austin American Statesman for a column by Matthew Odom published sometime last week, I believe. He is the food writer for the paper. Have a nice visit while you are in town.
Hint: if you want some good BBQ and don't want to wait on Franklin's take the metro (train) and get off at the Crestview station. Walk about 1/4 mile south on Lamar to Stiles Switch. It is one of our top rated places and away from the downtown area. Also real close to Yellow Rose topless place, if you are so inclined.
