How so i fix it when my pictures upload sideways?

Use whatever application you like to use for your images and load the desired image into the app. Then select a rotation menu item and rotate it 90 degrees. Then save the altered image to a different file name and there you go. You now have two images, the original and the corrected one.

When the original jpg file is in landscape mode (think 1024x768), even when you rotate the image to portrait (768x1024) and upload it, some websites will insist on rotating it back to landscape. The image hosting site that I use (imgbox) does this and it's really annoying.

When this happens, I'll rotate the pic to portrait, then crop it a bit with Paint so it now has true portrait proportions, then upload it and that seems to work.
