McConnell vows quick vote on next justice; Biden says wait

WASHINGTON (AP) — The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg just six weeks before the election cast an immediate spotlight on the crucial high court vacancy, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell quickly vowing to bring to a vote whoever President Donald Trump nominates.

(AP Photo/Evan Vucci) Democratic nominee Joe Biden vigorously disagreed, declaring that "voters should pick the president and the president should pick the justice to consider.”

McConnell, who sets the calendar in the Senate and has made judicial appointments his priority, declared unequivocally in a statement not long after Ginsburg’s death was announced that Trump’s nominee would receive a confirmation vote in the chamber. In 2016, McConnell refused to consider President Barack Obama’s choice for the high court months ahead of the election, eventually preventing a vote.
The impending clash over the vacant seat — when to fill it and with whom — is sure to significantly affect the stretch run of the presidential race, further stirring passions in a nation already reeling from the pandemic that has killed nearly 200,000 people, left millions unemployed and heightened partisan tensions and anger.
Trump, in brief remarks to reporters after learning of Ginsburg's death, called her “an amazing woman who led an amazing life.” He had continued with a campaign speech in Minnesota for about an hour and a half after the nation — as well as aides and many in his audience with cell phones — had learned of her death. He seemed surprised when he spoke with reporters afterward, saying he did not know she had died.

it is understood that harris wants the next SC nomination - in reality - Trump should go right ahead and nominate - and McConnell should force the vote. Cosnidering how the DPST radicals ran the impeachment process - and that harry Reid engineered the current Senate confirmation system - it is right that the DPST's get a dose of their own behavior. won't change the DPST insatiable thirst for raw, naked power over America. - though.

harris will nominate 12 or more new radical SC justices if elected - to control the courts and confirm no opposition to the radical Bernie /AOC legislative marxist agenda.

Let the DPST's scream - it is their own Hypocrisy - and lust for complete Power - that drives their whines and squawks.

It is time to do what can be done to preserve the representative democracy the DPST's are intent on totally destroying - for their own raw, naked Power.

So far Collins and Murkowski say they will not vote for Trump's nominee. Will 2 more Republican Senators do the same?

Easily. They know they’ll lose their re-election bids if they live now. Trump is deluded and thinks this will help him politically, but he’s already secured the deplorable vote.

Romney and Arizona.

So by the time they get past the election. The GOP Senate majority will already be diminished when Kelly dismantles McSally in Arizona.

McConnell’s got a very small window and a very BIG gamble.

Either way, he ain’t gonna get the votes.
When Mr Biden was a senator, he said GO....

Wait.. Go, what does he mean? Demented??

Best choice for Trump, Mitch and all the Republican Senators up for election? Trump nominates, vetting process starts, Senators conduct their interviews and on Nov. 4th, start the Senate hearing. That way no Senator is on record prior to the election. That is the best choice in moving forward.

Biden says wait
Bitten said "wait" on Trump shutting down international air travel, too!

Now he claims Trump "waited"!

Bitten didn't tell Obaminable to "wait" .... except for the killing of OBL..... Bitten is always guessing wrong!

... That's because he's GUESSING!

So are you trying to say “Maine is trending Trump?”
