I wanted a friend of mine to join, but she can not find How to get Verified. I dug a little but, but also couldn't find the info. Could some one point me in the right direction?

Is that for Houston Only? I would need San Fran or Seattle.

No mam that goes for all areas. It is a site wide policy not limited to Houston only. The above link is to the moderator over Seattle. Have your friend pm him with the info needed and I'm sure he can help her or you. Or she can make an introduction in the welcome forum whether it be the local one or national one and they will help her there as well. It's always good for a local moderator to help IMO due to knowing the local forum well

EA forgot to tell you to post taint photos. Taint always helps getting verification processed.
