Life has been very stressful lately and will be again in August. I'm seriously considering a trip to CR at the beginning of July. There is a lot of useful info here and the Sportsman seems to be the place in SJ and the Costa for Jaco. It appears SJ is cooling down as Jaco is heating up.

And yes... I have posted this to the CR section but it is not frequently read.

It got me thinking... I prefer a nicer place to stay. The penthouse at SM seems nice but at $320/night with tax... why not just go to Jaco and get a nice private beach house. There seem to be good options at the similar prices. Then there are some insanely cool places for $750 - $1200 per night but they are 4 to 7 bedrooms.

My idea which I realize is a long shot:

Get a group of fellow like minded Eccie guys to rent out one of these places. We split the costs of the place (maybe even assign a higher value to the nicer bedrooms). Plus maybe having a maid or a place that comes with a maid (some even already include this serves). One step further a private chef for breakfast/lunches. (dinner would be a maybe as we might prefer to eat out at the places to pick up Ticas at night).

My research shows most places are available during the July 4th period. They have either a 4 or 7 night minimum. There are a nice variety of places.

Any thoughts?

If you're looking for a frank discussion about this why not post it in men's lounge? What possible meaningful contribution can you expect the ladies to offer on this topic?

Not all the guys have access to the ML. I figured this got me the best reach. If there are guys who want to talk or give advice offline they can PM me. Do you think ladies here don't know that a certain number of us like to leave the US and blow off steam?

I understand what you're trying to do but man that's the kinda stuff I did from 18-25 with people I knew. Nowadays I'm traveling with a companion, meeting up with friends, or planning a solo trip with my intel already worked out. I'm assuming you have no personal friends and you're apprehensive about traveling and playing alone. My advice is to build up your courage, save up your money, and go when you can afford to.

It can be a struggle traveling and hanging out friends like that I can't even imagine hanging out with total strangers.

Your intentions are well placed but, it's been said the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

If you have a friend or two you feel comfortable with and trust, going down to Costa Rica together can be a lot of fun. It's called having a 'wingman'. It also provides some safety, better 2 or 3 guys walking together than 1 solo guy.

I've made the trip down there with a buddy on four occasions. Once we were on the same flight, then the other 3 times, we met down there. Trust me, it's a lot better having a true friend there versus trying to meet other gringos either at the hotel or the Blue Marlin bar at the Del Ray.

Since my last trip there, around 2007, things have changed a lot. Back in those days, the Presidente was still a good place to monger at and the Sportsman was just coming into play for the prime monger spot. Back then, Zona Blue was the 'go to' place for the mongers. One thing that's never changed is that it's a lot more fun to have a buddy there and you can talk shit with about who you just fucked and compare stories about your chica vs. his chica, etc. One time we had 3 guys and about 5 chicas in a huge jacuzzi on the 8th floor of the Presidente and had all sorts of fun. Basically we played 'pass the chica', and they liked it because they were well compensated.

One thing I regret is that I was supposed to hook up with Satin and a buddy or two, but a medical problem popped up and I had to make another trip down there a couple of weeks later. It would've been a total blast hanging out with Satin in Costa Rica.

So, having a wingman or wingmen you're comfortable with and trust can take a trip like this to higher levels of fun.

Also, you mentioned Jaco, perhaps you and a couple of buddies can go fishing and take a couple of chicas with you. Not having an orgy on the boat, but just having fun and letting the girls on the boat to have some fun fishing or having a few drinks. It gives them a bit of a paid holiday.

After thinking about it you guys found the reason I asked the questions without even knowing. Not sure I want to travel alone. Plus, the fond memories of college trips with the guys. My current set of friends is not into the hobby scene or I know their wives too well and don't want to know about it. My good friend's wife is a client of mine and he and I talked about the hobby life a few times. Then she came out and asked me if he was cheating. I am not a very good liar so it took a lot out of me. So I told him it was best if he kept me in the dark so I could more easily deal with any future questions. It is an arrangement that serves us well.

I guess I just thought about this as like a private hotel type of gig but in this case a bit more security and understanding. You would have other guys who want the same thing and to watch each others back.

I can afford to stay in the nicer hotels or rent one of the smaller beach homes. So unless I strike up friendships with guys here on Eccie in the near future... it is probably best to go ahead and just build up some courage and go it alone.
