You can ask a mod about that but i am pretty sure you are correct. She needs to do it from a different computer.
Okay thanks

to answer the ladies question.

It is a combination of things.

You need a new IP. I can tell you how if you are on a PC and using a cable modem.

- Download a program that let's you change your MAC ID. http://www.technitium.com/
- Google the owners manual of the Make and model number for your Cable Modem for how to access it's internal menu
- Google the owners manual for your router access information

1) Use the Router Acces information to set the router to use the MAC ID of the PC you connect from and save the changes.
2) Unplug the cable from the cable modem so it is not seeing the signal (first time) from the cable provider
3) Use TechMAc to change your Computer's Mac ID
4) Reset the Router
5) Access the cable modem and reset the cable modem and plug the cable back in as well.

You really do not need to unplug the cable after you get it down to a rythym....

I set it up in a browser with tabs to open the applicable windows for me and I click to reset the cable modem, switch to the MAC changer and tell it to randomly select a new MAC ID.....

20 seconds later it's done.

Now with registering a new account ECCIE seems to have implemented some new checks as well.... I would recommend that you download CCleaner and clean cache and cookies when changing.

You should use a totally different browser for your friend. Firefox and Opera are alternatives.

Even still..... There is an html exploit that is actually a hacker's tool that seems to be in play where they are looking at how many windows, what size, color schemes, fonts, etc So be sure to close all other windows and maybe even change your screen background.

I figure it's part of the ongoing effort to shut down Ricky.....

I happen to know about this because a lady asked for my help getting registered and we ran into the same thing on my laptop.

It's not against any rules for two people to use the same computer..... Just for one person to have multiple accounts. So don't share yours with her or let her tell you her password....

Once your account is set up it will be less of a hassle when you both log in... you don't really need to change IPS if you are behaving.... They are only going to look at them and ask you if someone uses the same IP to cause some trouble on the board.

People run into the same problem trying to register from Starbucks if another girl has.

There are other ways as well..... TOR is cheap and easy to set up.... But I would think they would immediately be suspicious of the kind of IPS it pulls. Registering for an ECCIE account via Sweden but list San Antonio SHOULD generate a "What's up?

Good Luck..... You may want to just find someone to help you the first time and show it to you if you are not very tech adept.
