I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we lost a valuable member of the community recently... I sent Straw a pm on here a few years back and asked him if he would like to meet somewhere over a couple of beers and talk about the hobby and other real world stuff.. he replied and said sure... I told him if he knew of anyone else that may want to join to ask.. so 3 of us mongers met up at a local watering hole and spent a few hours telling stories drinking beer and having a damn good time!! I found many of his reviews and posts to be helpful and informative! He and I became pretty good friends since then.. in fact I cooked a brisket and had a party at my place in early Aug which he attended.. that was the last time I saw him.. I attended his service this past Fri.. he was a good man! Lots of good and funny stories shared by his family and friends at his service. I know many companions in the area knew him as well as some of admirers (to use P411 terms) so if anyone would like more information you can pm me. Also, if anyone else in the Midessa area would like to meet over a couple beers and talk hobby and other real world stuff let me know.. I’m always down for that. Hobby on!!

That is a shame. I wish his relatives and friends the best.

#28 - On occasion, we may lose a valuable member of our community as a result of an unexpected accident, natural causes, or other various circumstances. The grieving process when these situations arise is often difficult and ECCIE has established a procedure to follow in such cases to protect the memory and more importantly the anonymity of our deceased member. A brief announcement will be made to inform the membership and honor the deceased member's contributions here without revealing any circumstances that may jeopardize the privacy of any of the parties involved. It will be immediately locked, and no further discussion allowed.
